If you were to ask anyone who their favorite teacher is, they would probably mention one who treated them positively. Likewise, if you were to ask anyone who their worst teacher was they would probably mention one who treated them badly. Sometimes we need to really think about what we want to say. Pausing before making a comment or stating an opinion is good "think time". Consider the fact that a majority of our day is surrounded by young sponges, our actions need to be louder than our words. Don't just say you care-show them you do.

ReplyDeleteI chose the same quote. I agree, the environment you create is very important to our students. Creating a positive learning environment will establish a good working relationship with your students.
I've selected this quote, too, at one time. The tongue really has power even though it is a small part of the whole body. We don't often think about the impact of what we say as having long term effects so this quote is a good one to remember.
